Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents, as usual. I didn't get too may pictures, but here are a few-

At the beginning of December Jack was invited to a Skating Birthday party for our little neighbor. This was his first time ever skating. Despite it being quite hard for him he loved it! He has been asking to go back ever since. Maybe we'll have to go during Christmas vacation.

Today we finally got some snow! The boys were so excited. I tried to have them wait until we had more to go out and play, but they were too excited. It's a good thing we went out when we did because it was all melted a hour later. They had fun having snow ball fights and playing "A Christmas Story". Jack was "Ralphie", Logan was "Randy", and they made me be "Scott Farkus". It was pretty fun to chase them around!

Field trip

Jack's class took a field trip to Hee Haw farms last week. It was a great way to spend the day. I was the lucky one to go with him. We left Logan at home with my mom because I wanted this to be Jack's special time and not have to worry about chasing a two year old. He had a blast taking a hay ride, petting farm animals, and going thru the corn maze. He even got to pick a pumpkin for the pumpkin patch at the end of the field trip.

Jack started his second year of pre-school today. he could have started kindergarten this year, but because he just turned 5 two weeks ago, and he is the size of a three year old we decided to keep in back one more year. I am kind of glad we did because now that I am not working I have this one year with him before he is in school everyday. I have never not worked, so this should be a fun time for me and the boys!

Logan needed to be in the picture too, he is such a big boy! He threw the biggest tantrum when we left Jack at school. He just wants to be one of the big kids!

Our little neighbor is going to the same school, he will be in the three year old program (see, I told you Jack was the size of a three year old!). We had to get a picture of the two of them as we were both leaving.

Jack and his new teacher, Miss Holly. When he walked in she asked his to remind her of his name. He said "Jack, J-A-C-K, Jack." . Then later that day she told me that he came up to her and very seriously told her, "I am a very smart boy, you know". And to think, I held him back to give him more confidence, I think it worked!

Calling all Super Friends!

We celebrated Jack's 5th birthday on Saturday. We of course had to have a superhero party, cause when your five, life is all about superheros! I made most everything myself, and purchased the rest at the dollar store.

Jack and I made some signs leading to the back yard, where the party was held.

It was so hot the frosting was melting!

I made "no-sew" superhero capes for each child. I hit a sale and bought some felt and some heat and bond. All I did was cut out the shape of the cape I wanted and added the circle and each child's first initial. I used Velcro to keep the caped on the kids. I just used the sticky kind. I probably should have sewn the Velcro on, but I am lazy!

We played three games. The first game was when they first got to the party. We had a obstacle course. Each child had to crawl thru a tunnel, make a basket with the basket ball, fly down the slide, jump over a building (which I made with a cardboard box) and throw a water balloon at a villain. After the obstacle course each kid won a superhero cape, for their transformation into a real superhero.

The Second game we played was "Pin the Bat on Batman". Each kid won a mask I made with some leftover felt, brads, and elastic. I should have made them bigger, oh well!
After they got their masks we played one more game. "Don't touch the Kryptonite". I painted some rocks green. I told the kids not to touch it, or it would take their super powers away. They had to pick up the kryptonite with tongs and place it in a bucket. After that game they were all official superhero and I rewarded them with certificates.

I painted a back some butcher paper to make a city scene. I also painted some boxes to look like buildings, using post-its for the windows. I wanted to take a picture of each kid to send home with a thank-you card, but I only got half of their individual pictures.

Jack turned 5 this past week. Can you believe it, already? Here is a look back on the best five years of my life!

Jack at birth. 9 lbs. 11 oz. and 22 inches long! You would never guess he was so big at birth by looking at him today.

Jack's first birthday! We had a beach ball party at our friends club house.

Birthday number three! We had a dinosaur party. Here is Jack showing off one of his new gifts. Fourth Birthday. He celebrated with a Toy Story party. We just had a small little party with a couple friends.

Here are a few things I love most about Jack-
He is very smart!

He loves books and already a great little reader
He loves to learn new things
Every day (or hour) he wants to be something new,
usually a scientist of some sort!

...but I love him sooooo much! Logan isn't necessarily the type of kid who plays with his toys. What does he do with them you might ask? Well, he loves to take them and put them in different places, that they don't necessarily belong. For instance, his favorite is to take all the toy bins in his room and dump them, along with all the toys into his crib. Who needs organization! His other favorite thing to do is to take all the play food to their little kitchen and dump it all out along the living room floor.
Here are some pictures of him taking every stuffed animal he could find and putting them on mommy's bed. This one I actually enjoyed because then we could snuggle!
I just love this little boy of mine, even though sometimes he can drive me nuts!

Children's Gardens

We spent the morning at The Children's Gardens at Thanksgiving Point last week. What a fun place! This kids just love walking around and playing. There is a lot to do there, Mazes, a bear cave, play areas, sand areas, story time, and not to mention the big Noah's Ark Fountain. Its been a great place to visit this summer!

Pioneer Day

We celebrated Utah's pioneer heritage this year on Saturday. Pioneer day was actually on Monday, but Adam had to work. So, on Saturday we had a big family BBQ at Adam's parents house, which it always fun! The kids just love going to Gigi and Grandpas house!

Swim Lessons

The boys both did swim lessons in the middle of July this year. Logan and I did the "Mom and Me" lessons. It was kind of funny because he is such a big kid, he looked like he should have been out with all the older kids, not swimming with his mom! Jack did amazing at swim lessons this year! He did so well that they suggested that he skip a level next year! I love what little fishes my kids are turning into. My brother, sister, and I all did swim team growing up, and we loved it! Swimming was a huge part of our lives every summer, so it's important to me that my kids at least know how to swim (unlike their dad! sorry hun!).

4th of July weekend

We spent Saturday before the 4th at the freedom festival in Provo. The kids went on a couple of rides and then the walked around for a little while. It was so hot! We decided to go to brick oven for lunch to get out of the heat. For some reason Brick oven is Jack's favorite restaurant, even though this was only his second time there.

After church on Sunday we had a bbq with our neighbors and lit off a few fireworks. The boys loved the sparklers and fireworks. Logan was loving it, all until he grabbed a sparkler after it went out. My poor boy has a little burn on his hand. It seems to be getting better and we have not had to take him to the Doctor. On Monday Adam and I both had food poisoning, so we stayed home all day. By that evening Adam was feeling better, so he took the kids to his parents for more fireworks. I was so depressed that I missed it, they had a great time!

The boys were given a Thanksgiving Point membership for Christmas from Gigi and Grandpa. It has been the best gift! The boys love going to the dinosaur museum, I don't think it will ever get old! I can't wait for a warm day so we can head over to the farm, I just know Logan will love it!

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents, as usual. We had a great little party with friends and family.
Mimi and Grandpa got the boys a kitchen for Christmas, as you can see Jack was super excited!

Christmas Day both boys woke up sick. I swear it felt like the whole month of December the kids were sick. It didn't matter, they were still excited! Here is the first present of the morning.

Christmas day we headed over to my in-laws. We didn't stay as long, because Logan was so sick. We ended up taking him to the Drs. the next day and he had croup, as well as Jack. Poor babies!
Even with all the sickness we still had a wonder Christmas!

The boys got to go visit Santa at the mall tonight. We had a great night out as a family. Jack told Santa he wanted a spy kit and adventure stuff. Logan just sat there. He was very curious, but didn't say to much. I could tell he was kind of excited. It was such a fun night! My mom came with us and we went out for pizza and for a stroll threw Blickenstaffs toy store. If you have not been, you must go! Its so fun, there is something for everyone to look at! I am so inlove with this time of year!! It makes me so happy to spend time with my little family doing all these fun holiday things and making memories. I am one blessed lady!

Hee Haw Farm!

I just love Fall! Here is one of our family's favorite fall traditions.....Hee Haw Farms! We have been coming here since before my kids were born and every year after. Its just a little local farm that has fun activities for fall and a corn maze. We had so much fun with the kids doing all the activities that we didn't even do the maze this year. The only down part of the day is that my battery in my camera died half way threw the adventure. I was so mad because Logan loved petting all the animals, he was running around with all of them in the petting part of the farm, it was so cute!

Jack had his first day of preschool last Thursday. He was super excited and had the best day. I am so happy that he liked it, I was a little nervous (he's kind of a mama's boy!). My Baby Jack turned 4 on Monday. Can you believe it? Four? Where has the time gone? Its hard to believe that he is already four and that he will be starting preschool this week. I am very excited for him, but its bittersweet. I have been waiting for years to be at home with him full time and do lots of art projects and learning and fun day trips. Don't get me wrong, we have do our fair share of fun things, but I just feel the time slipping away, especially now that he is starting preschool. It seems like soon our days will be dictated by school schedules and other activities.
Blah Blah Blah, that's just the mom in me missing my baby, especially since I have a new nephew is making me a little baby hungry (but not hungry enough to do anything about it).

Anyway, on to the party. We had a little friend party on Monday. Of course it was a Toy Story party! Here are some of the highlights....

This summer I have only been lucky enough to only work one day a week. It has been so much fun to be home more with the boys and do so many fun things! I feel like I am a kid on summer vacation again! Summer is going by so fast, I sure feel blessed that I could spend so much time with my cute boys all summer long! Jack has been taking swim lessons for the past two weeks. He loves is, and is super good at it too! We missed the first day because I had to work, so the following day when we went there was a mix up with what time he was supposed to take them at. They said they had opening in a class, so we could just switch times. Jack was doing awesome at swimming, but I noticed he was not as mature as the other kids and didn't listen as well. One day I finally asked what class this was. The instructor said it was Level One. I signed Jack up for Pre-School level one, but they put him into level one, as in 5 year olds! I said to them that he was only three and maybe I should put him into anther class, but they said that he was the best swimmer there! Yeah, way to make your mama proud Jack! Maybe you'll be a swimmer just like me!

4th of July 2010

Wow, life sure has been busy! I am not exactly sure what has been keeping us so busy, but it seems like lief is going non stop! I am only working one day a week for the summer, and it sure has been great. I feel like I am on summer vacation again. We really enjoyed the 4th this year. On Saturday the 3rd we started the festivities with a water party at Adam's parents house. Unfortunately I forgot my camera :( It was really fun for the kids, they has sprinklers set up, a little pool, water gun fights, and some other games. The kids had a blast! On Sunday we went back and had a BBQ and fire works with Adam's family. We found out that our little Logan may turn into quite the pyro someday. While all the other kids decided to watch from the window, he sat out with the adults and watched all the fireworks, he couldn't get enough!
On Monday the 5th we were still celebrating here in Utah. We went to the Freedom festival for a little while, and then headed to my Mom and Dad's for another BBQ and more fireworks.
We had a great weekend and are so grateful we could celebrate our independence with our friends and family!

Logan had his 15 mo. check up yesterday, even though he is almost 16 mo. old.
Here are the stats
Weight- 26lbs 13oz -80%
Height- 34 1/4 in. 99%
Head- 96%

He is one big boy! He is already wearing the summer clothes that Jack wore last summer, and has almost grown out of the sandels I bought him for the summer!
Logan is such a fun and happy baby! He loves to smile and laugh.

He is starting to try to talk, some of his favorite things to say are-

Other then that he just yells as loud as he can until his point it clear and he gets what he wants!

Logan loves Jack and always wants to do what he is doing. Jack gets annoyed and upset with him a lot, but I think its getting better.

Last Monday Jack went to his cousins Birthday party. Aidan has a Lightning McQueen bike, and it was all that Jack could talk about. All week he talked about getting a bike. So, Adam and I decided it was time to get him a bike. However, on Tuesday we took my mom shopping and he had a full on tantrum in the middle of Kohls about buying a toy. This is starting to become a habbit, him having a melt down when he doesn't get his way. So, on Thursday night we had a talk with Jack about how if he wanted to buy a bike that he had to help pay for it. I did this because he is to the age that he is always wanting to buy stuff when we are out shopping. I really want to teach him the importance of the value of his money. So, we counted out his money and then I had him do some chores and paid him for them . He had enough to pay for half of his bike. We went to the store and he picked out his very own bike and helped pay for it at the cashier. He was so proud of himself!

Easter

Here are some picture from our Easter weekend, in no particular order because blogger is being weird! On Friday night we colored some Eggs, which Jack loved. On Saturday we just hung around and watched conference. In the afternoon we had a egg hunt at Adam's parents house, which was really fun for the kiddos! On Sunday we went to my parents house for brunch, the home for a much needed nap for all of us! That night we went to Karlee and Dustin's for a yummy dinner and egg hunt for the kids. We are so luck to have such great friends!

Jack got a piggy bank in his Easter Basket (well, next to it). Instead of candy in the hidden eggs there was money to fill his pig. I am glad that he now had a piggy bank because for two weeks now he has been collecting all the change in the house and putting it into a slipper!

We had the best time at Disneyland! This was Jack and Logan’s first time. I know that Logan will have no memory of this vacation, but he loved it while we were there! We are so grateful that we could spend this time as a family in the happiest place on earth!

I can't believe my sweet baby turned one last Wednesday! Has it really been a year already? I was so excited for Logan's birthday, but sad at the same time. Its so sad how fast time flies by. To celebrate Logan turning the big ONE we had a little party on Saturday. Thanks to all of you who could make it and for all the nice gifts. We sure do have some great friends and family!

He is such a happy social baby. Logan is funny and is always making us laugh. We just love this little guy more and more each day! I am so happy that I get to be his mommy!

Yesterday Logan got his very first hair cut! My friend Karlee was kind enough to do it for us, and Logan was such a good boy!

Is Jonny Cash a Cowboy?

Jack just loves Jonny Cash! Last week while my sister was here she had her ipod with her. Jack asked if he could listen to Jonny Cash on it, so she let him. He then asked her in a really loud voice if Jonny Cash was a cowboy. She said, yeah, I guess. This got Jack excited and we went and got his hobby horse and decided that he was going to be a cowboy while he was listening to Jonny Cash. It was hilarious!P.S. My kid really dose have clothes, he just really likes being in his underwear!

Santa left a 5 ft. snake in Jack's stocking. Jack was so excited, this could have been his only gift and he would have been fine with that!

Auntie Megan got Jack a fire man dress up set. He loves to dress up and then watch "Fire man Sam". However, he doesn't like having his picture taken with it on!

Logan is wearing the New England Patriots Jersey that Uncle Chris got for him while he watches a foot ball game. Yeah!

And this is Logan's latest... Although he LOVES to eat, he likes to make this face and spit his food out, just to be funny. We hate this, but his face is so cute when he dose it!

Happy Halloween!

This was such a fun Halloween! I remember thinking when I was little how I didn't want to grow up, because adults must not have as much fun on Halloween and Christmas. Well, I was wrong! Its so fun having a toddler on Halloween and seeing the excitement in their eyes as they walk down the street and see all the fun costumes and get all their candy! I love it! We had a great night, just our little family walking around the neighborhood, having fun together!

On Monday we spent the morning at the park. Both boys loves playing in the leaves, especially Logan, who kept trying to eat them!

For FHE on Monday night we decided to carve pumpkins. As with any activity with toddler, there were some tears. Needless to say we only got to one pumpkin that night.

Jack freaked out for two reasons.
1. Jack didn't like the feeling of the insides of the pumpkin, but I made him try to feel it anyway.
2. He wanted to hold the knife all by himself. Right...like that's going to happen!

Logan was about ready for bed by the time we finished. He was so good the whole night. He just sat in his high chair, ate his puffs, and watched the fun.

Hogle Zoo

On Monday we went to Hogle Zoo with my parents. It was Jack's reward for being fully potty trained. On our way to the zoo it started snowing! Yes, that's right, snow. It was so cold, but we all bundled up and had a great time!

Jack had to "show" my mom this lion. He guided her hand so that she could feel it.

A lot of the animals came right up to the windows. Jacks wasn't so sure if he like that with some of them. He would slowly back away from the window, it was so funny.

Jack got a scooter from Gigi and Grandpa for his birthday. He loves it! He know the rules though, he wont even try to get on it with out his helmet and knee pads. Safety first!

We celebrated Jack's birthday yesterday with a party at my in-laws. They were so nice to let us have it there. We kept it simple this year with just family, and my best friend's family. We had some cake and ice cream, gifts, and a few activities. It was perfect for a three year old!

When the kids arrived we started with project. They had to decorate bags for a game that we were going to play. They decorated brown gift bags with foam dino cut-out and stickers.

After they were finished the kids got dinosaur tattoos and "explorer" hats.

Then Adam read the kids a story "The lost Dinosaur Bone" (one of Jack's favortie books).

After the story the kids had to take the bags they made and go find some lost dinosaurs in the sand box.

Then it was gift time! Everyone was so generous to give Jack such great gifts! Thanks so much!

Three years ago today my Baby Jack was born! He has been such a joy to Adam and I. We just love this kid to pieces!

Logan enjoys rolling all over the floor, eating fruit and vegetables twice a day and laughing a whole lot! He loves to play in his bouncer, watch Baby Einstein, and Play with mom, dad, and big brother Jack! He can't sit on his own yet, but I think its because his head is so big!

As if Saturday was not busy enough we had a Family party in Farmington. Adam's cousin Michelle was nice enough to host it at her house. It was nice to see family who we had not seen in ages! Michells had bought this bouncy house for her twins and set it out for the party. It was a huge hit! Look at these two boys having so much fun together!

My cute little Loogy Bear is 5 months old today (yes, the poor kid has a million nick names)! I can hardly believe how fast time has gone. He is such a sweet happy baby! He always has smiles and giggles for mom and dad, well anyone who smiles at him, really! I am not sure how much he weights, but I am sure that its a lot! He is so heavy!! He rolls over, mostly from his back to his stomach. He has tried to scoot around already too, but has not has too much success. He is now eating rice cereal and oatmeal and a variety of fruits and vegetables twice a day. He is one good eater! I just love this baby!

This year for the 4th of July we started out our day relaxing at home and I made chocolate chip pancakes. I want to start the tradition of a fun breakfast on the 4th or July. After breakfast we got ready and headed to the Hillery's, where we have gone every year since we have been married. Our friend Dustin's mom always has a great BBQ with tons of yummy stuff to eat. We always have a good time visiting with them. That evening we headed to Adam's parents house for another great BBQ. My father in-law always has the best food! We played some games, ate, watched some fireworks, and ate some more! Jack was scared of the loud noise of the fireworks, but likes the ones that were not too loud. It a improvement from last year, when we had to watch from the kitchen window. We were going to go to Bob and Laura's to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks (they have the best view!), but we were all so tired from such a busy and fun weekend. The best part about this great holiday weekend was that Jack was so tired from all the fun that he slept until 9am all weekend!!!

Not only was it fathers day this weekend, but it was also Adam's birthday on Saturday. None of my plans came together as planned, but I did pull off these cute pictures of the kids and framed it for Adam's desk at work. I also make a great cake for Adam, form scratch. I have never done that before, so I am pretty proud!

On Monday evening it was really windy, perfect for kite flying! Jack had picked out this Buzz Lightyear kite at Wal-mart a few weeks ago, but hasn't had any success flying it until now. Not only did Adam graduate last weekend, and we celebrated Mothers day, we also blessed Logan. It was such a busy weekend. By the time Monday came around I was ready for another weekend! After the blessing we headed to my Mom's house to a little bite to eat. My brother did a great job putting it all together! Thanks Mom and Dad and Chris and Megan for all your help!

Last Friday night Jack and I dyed eggs. It took all of 5 minutes because we had 12 eggs and 12 colors, and before I could stop him Jack had most the eggs in the cups! He was very excited and even woke up early Saturday and asked if the Easter bunny hid his eggs. I told him that that night the Easter bunny would come and hide the eggs, he told me "after bed tonight". He got the point!

Easter morning he woke up early again and he found all his eggs quickly. He kept looking for the orange egg (which Adam had eaten the day before). I told him that the "Easter Bunny" must have eaten his orange egg, so that was all he talked about all morning.
We went to Church with Adam's Parents, then to my parents for Easter brunch and a egg hunt. Later that day we went back to Adam's parents for another egg hunt, where Jack won the grand prize egg- it had $20 in it! When he opened it and threw the money in Aidan's basket, he wanted candy, not paper!!! Adam was sure to grab the $20 back!
We had a fun day thanks to the effort of both our parents who love to spoil their grand kids!

Oh, I forgot my camera on Easter Sunday as we were frantically trying to get to church. What kind of a lame mom am I? The boys even had coordinating Easter outfits on! I think my sis-in-law took some pictures, so when she emails them to me I will post them, or maybe on Sunday I will take some mock Easter pictures.

Two Months Old!

Logan turned two months old yesterday! He is such a joy and a blessing to have in our family!
We had his two month check up on Thursday the Dr. confirmed what I already knew, Logan is huge! Here are the stats-

Weight- 14 lbs 1 oz. 95th percentile
Height- 25 in. 97th percentile
Head- 85th percentile

Logan has the cutest smile, but this is the closest I have come to getting a good picture of it!

Logan can hold a rattle now,but he hates tummy time.

Oh yeah, Logan also spits up just as much as Jack did, as you can see from the picture above.

Motherhood

It has taken me two pregnancy and two sons later to finally feel like a real mom. When it was just Jack, I was a mom, but it was easy (I didn't think so at the time). It was kind of like playing house. I would take him where ever I wanted to go, we could do almost anything we used to do with just one. He was a super easy baby and I got the nightly sleep I needed. He is a super smart kid (he must get it from his dad) and I really have not had to teach him much, he just picks things up on his own. It was hard to go to work, but I had a good routine down and he went to my moms, so I didn't need to worry too much.
Now I am a mother of two. It hit me the moment we brought Logan home that we were a real family, we were real parents, and I had some more growing up to do. We pulled into our driveway and I asked Adam if he would get the "kids" out of the car. Adam looked at me and I could tell he was as weirded out as I was by the word "kids". Its a little freaky, but I love it!
As much as I am loving having two boys, I have a feeling life is about to get a little stressful. I start back to work next week. Eek!! I'm a little anxious!
So, what I want to know is how do people do this? How do women work, be mom, wife, and maid, all with perfect hair and makeup and a super skinny body? How do so many moms seem to have it all together? I got to walked around Target the other day and noticed moms with perfect hair, perfect make-up, and a perfect body with three kids hanging all over them. I bet their house is clean too! How is there time in the day to do it all??
How am I going to get two kids out the door by seven? How will I be able to keep my house clean, let alone get dinner on the table? When will I have time to work out (cause God only knows how much weight I have to loose now!)?
Well, now after reading this post it may sound like I am a little ungrateful. I truly do feel so blessed to be a mom to such wonderful baby boys. I am so grateful to have such a amazing husband who is working so hard for our family. I love my little family more then anything, and even though I am starting to feel a little stressed, this is still one of the happiest times in my life so far.
Thanks for reading my random thoughts. I guess it helps to spew it all out into words.

Before Logan was born I was shopping with a friend. I came across a clearance rack with these pajamas on it. I just couldn't help myself, I had to get matching pj's for both boys! I know, I'm dork, my husband lets me know this quite frequently!

Jack loves to snuggle with his baby brother, he has even been nice enough to share his nanny blankets (unfortunatly, they are probably filthy!)

Big Boy Time

I have been feeling pretty guilty lately. As much as Jack LOVES Logan, its been hard on him. He had been pretty use to getting all the attention around here. Sometimes, he'll say "mommy hold me" and I just want to cry because I can't pick him up yet. We have tried to make him really excited about being a big brother now and all the fun big boy things that he gets to do now. He keeps telling us that he is not a big boy, he's a baby.
So, in trying to make being a big boy something that is exciting to him, and spend some one on one time with him, he and I went to build-a-bear this week. Jack had never been, but he loved it. I was also nice to spend time with just him and make him feel special. He loved the whole process, and he'll tell you all about it if you ask him! Another plus was getting out of that place for under $15! Jack wanted to make a panda bear, and when I asked him if he wanted to get him shirt or shoes he told me that pandas don't wear clothes!

Jack thought that it would be fun to nap on the floor instead of his bed. He set this all up him self.

Logan is now three weeks old. Jack just loves his brother, sometimes too much!

We brought Logan home on Saturday after spending 4 1/2 days at the hospital, most of which Logan spent in the NICU. Logan was admitted to the NICU the day after he was born because he was making some "grunting" and "whining" noises. They did a chest x-ray and some blood work. They found that he had some fluid left in his lungs, which is common of c-section babies. When they did the blood work they found that his sodium levels were too high and his electrolytes were all out of whack, which I guess can happen to big babies. It apparently meant that he was dehydrated. So, they had him on a IV for a day to get him all back to normal. So, needless to say I spent most of my hospital stay in the NICU, instead of in bed recovering. The nurse finally had to tell me that I needed to stay in bed and rest, and that they would let me know when to come down to nurse him. So, finally Friday night Logan was released from the NICU and was able to come down to my room, so I could rest and be with my baby!
Logan so far is a pretty good baby. He is starting to remind me a lot of Jack. Jack was a excellent baby, so we'll see if I can luck out again! Logan doesn't cry much, except for when he is hungry. When he wants food, he wants it now! The first night home was a adjustment, lets just say there was no sleep for me that night! The second night was much better, and we'll see how tonight goes!

Logan arrived 2-10-09 @ 8:43 am via c-section. He weighs a whopping 10 lbs and 6 oz! He is 22 1/2 inches long. The other doctor who was assisting in the c-section asked if I was over my due date and was shocked to find that I was actually 4 days early!

I work with the nicest people! On Tuesday the girls had a little surprise shower for me during lunch. I was so surprised. Debbie made the coolest cake for me. It was a cake with a huge pregnant belly sticking out of it. It was so cool! You can't really tell from the picture, but the belly and boobs were mounds of cake and stuk out of the cake. Rebekah was in charge of purchasing the gift from everyone. She happened to remember that when I had Jack I really wanted a Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag. Knowing that I would never be able to buy one for myself, she got me one from everyone at work! I was sooooo excited! She filled it will all sorts of things for the baby and gave me a big package of diapers and wipes, which you can never have enough of! Rebekah is the most thoughtful gift giver!
I seriously love everyone I work with, and not because they all pitched in and got me the cutest bag ever! Everyone is so nice and giving. I love how well we all work together. I am glad to be on maternity leave, but I will miss seeing everyone daily.

So, I am now 38wks and 5 days. No sign of a baby yet. I had a apt. on Monday and there was no change. So, we will just plan on meeting this little guy on Tuesday. I am so happy to be done with work. I have been so tired, and by that 3:00 hour in the day I can barley walk! It was nice to just be home today and be able to rest and lay down when I needed to. Jack took a long nap today, which I really appreciated!
I am really getting excited to meet this little boy. I wonder who he will look like? how big he will be? how it will feel to love two kids? What we will name him? Well, I guess its finally approaching. I will keep you all posted.

Nine Months

Well, I am in the home stretch. I am 37 and a half weeks right now, and ready to have a baby! I had a ultrasound on Tuesday to determine the size of this little boy growing inside of me. So, right now, at 37 weeks he is 8lbs 7 oz. Yup, at 37 weeks! His body is measuring at 39 weeks and is in the 97th percentile. His head is already measuring 40 weeks, and is off the chart. My doctor was out of two this week, so I saw his associate. He told me that because I am having a c-section they will not take the baby before 39 weeks. So, I have my c-section scheduled for the 10th. Which is only 4 days early. boo! I had him check me to see if I was dilated or anything, of course I am not :(
Yeah, so I am pretty sick of being pregnant. I am trying everything to go into labor, so everyone please give me your suggestions!
Still can't decide what to name the poor kid. Maybe that's why he wont come, he knows we don't have a name yet!

Big Boy

Jack got his new "big boy" bed. He has been sleeping and napping great in it. He says that he will "share big boy bed with baby brother". I told him that baby brother had to sleep in the crib, but that he could share his room with baby brother. He thought that was a good compromise.
Jack is sometimes cranky if you wake him up from his nap before he is ready. So, we usually snuggle. This is my view of jack snuggling on my ever growing belly.

Oh, and as for our New Years celebration....Well, I celebrated in bed all day with some sort of flu. Fun, I know. I am so thankful that my mom took Jack for the day so that I could rest, I could barley lift my head off the pillow. Being 8 mo. pregnant and having the flu is the worst! I was disappointed because I couldn't go with Adam and Jack to my in laws for their little party. Needless to say I was asleep when the ball dropped. I guess there is always next year!

Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Jack was a little cranky, but I guess that's what happens when your two and miss your nap two days in a row! By the end of the day Jack sat on my lap and said "no Christmas tree", I think he was over Christmas!

The festivities started on Tuesday night when we took Jack to see Santa at the mall. He loved it! I could barley get him to look away from Santa to get a picture. He told Santa that he wanted a "jungle" toy for Christmas. He must have been a good boy, cause that's what he got!
We spent Christmas Eve day at home. Jack and Adam spent some time outside playing in all this fresh snow. Then we spent the evening at my parents house, which is what we usually do.

Christmas day we opened presents at home and then we down to my mom and dads to open a few. Jack, of course was spoiled rotten! I don't know why we even bought him anything, he got enough from his aunts and uncles and grandparents! Auntie Meggie SPOILED him by buying him a power wheels. He was so excited to ride it, but started crying when we all started laughing at him. He was so tired that he was being super sensitive.

We then spent the whole day with Adams family. Jack had a great time playing with Aidan and Aubrey. We are so blessed to be able to be with family during the holiday season.

Temple Square

Thursday night we took Jack to Temple Square to see all the lights. Adam and I would go to temple square every year to see the lights when we were dating, and we were married in the salt lake temple, so it was nice to be able to go this year with our own little boy. We had so much fun being together as a family, and Jack is at the perfect age. He was just so excited about everything having to to with Christmas. We rode the Trax train, which was so fun for Jack, it was all he could talk about! I hope that this will become a new Christmas tradition for our family.

I love to decorate for Christmas during Thanksgiving weekend. I like to have all my decorations up as long as I can! I was going to just do it quick while Jack was in bed. He must have sensed that something fun was happening down stairs because I could hear him in his bed for about a half hour talking to himself and calling for me. So, I finally got him out of bed and had him come down to help me. I am so glad I did. He had so much fun! He kept saying "I helping you mom" and "I good at making tree". He is just so cute! I decided to let him keep a few decorations off the tree that he was playing with, hoping that he will just play with these, and not grab anymore off the tree. I also decided to skip the glass bulbs this year, just in case he is to take them off the tree. He is already obsessed with the animals from my nativity scene. I was trying to explain to him who Mary and Joseph were and Baby Jesus. He just wanted to talk about the animals, so we'll just keep trying to talk about it throughout the season. Wish me luck!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We had a great day today. We at dinner at Adam's parents house and then went to my parents house for dessert. The night before I wanted to do something fun with Jack, so we made little head dresses for him and Aidan. Jack loves doing "projects"! The boys were so cute wearing their little head dresses and sitting at their own little table. I know we didn't do too much today, but I am exhausted! I hope that I can rest tonight so that I can be ready for shopping tomorrow!

On Saturday was the big BYU VS UTAH game. My husband has all the sudden started following UTAH football the past season, so we all watched the game together. I made some yummy appetizers and Adam and Jack wore their UTAH shirts. I was in red too, but it was actually a coincidence. BYU got slaughtered by UTAH 48-24. Jack was repeating everything that Adam said, so he picked up a few phrases such as- "Oh Crap", "What the Freak", "Goooooooo!". Good thing Adam didn't say anything worse then that!

Halloween

This Halloween was so fun! Jack is at a very fun age and loved every minute of it, well almost! On Monday night we went to the Jones/ Brady Halloween party. Jack was not so excited when we go to this party, even though it was all he could talk about in the car on the way up to draper! I think that he was just scared because it was so loud and everyone was in costumes (great costumes may I add!). On Halloween night we started by going to Adam's office for trick or treating. After that we ended up at my mom's for a while, and then off to the annuel Beach Halloween Party. My in-laws always have a great party, and it was especially fun this year to see the boys so excited! They definitally had a good share of candy (no matter how hard Karen and I tried) and were off the wall for a good part of the night!

Halloween Cookies

Jack and I had some fun decorating Halloween cookies Sunday night after dinner. Jack hates to touch anything sticky, so he let me frost them and then he did the decorating. He dumped ALL the jimmies (or sprinkles if you aren't from New England) on the first cookie. Then he had to "test" it to make sure it tasted good. After that my battery died, so I couldn't get pictures of the rest of his cookies.

A Day at the Farm

On Saturday Adam and I took Jack to Hee Haws Farm. This is a little farm that is open in the fall and has all sorts of fun activities for families. It was freezing! As you can probably tell from all the pictures, we were cold! The good think about going on such a cold day was that there were only a few other families there.
Jack was so excited to go to the farm. The night before we told him that the next day we would go to the farm and see the 'Big Fat Pig". This was all he could talk about.

At first Jack was afraid of the huge pig, whose name is Leroy. When we got there Leroy was eating a whole pumpkin, I could see how that would be scary for a little boy the of the same size. Jack eventually warmed up and ever went and got some corn out of the field to feed Leroy.

After seeing the pigs we visited the ponys, where one of them licked Jack's hand. He thought this was disgusting.

After we left the farm we came home and Jack had a much needed nap. When he woke up the first thing out of his mouth was "Go Farm". For the rest of the weekend all he can talk about is "Feed fat pig corns" and "Pony lick my Hand". Everytime he mentions these little memories he does so with the biggest smile on his face, which made the cold all worth it!

Sleeping Baby

Have you ever watched a movie or a T.V. show and seen two parents standing there together lovingly looking at their sleeping child? I have. I remember seeing such scenes before I had a child and thinking how cheesy and cliche they were. Well, now I have a kid! I can't count the number of times I have found Adam and I standing there watching our little guy as he is in dream land. There is noting better then seeing you child in such a sweet state! Here are some pictures I took a few nights ago as jack was fast asleep. I just love how angelic he looks!

This is what happened tonight as we were getting ready for dinner-

Mary- "Jack tell Daddy to turn off the t.v"

Jack- "Daddy turn t.v....(silence for about 15 sec. as jack turns to the TV in amazment and sees the opening to "Star Wars").....ooooffff."

Adam: (proud of his son) "its in his genes"

Jack continues to ignore us both as he watches Star Wars.

We're having a BOY!

Today at my ultrasound we found out that I am having a boy (which was no surprise to me)! The tech. said that the baby looks great. He is about 8-10 inches long and about 12 oz. I am measuring a week ahead, so maybe my doctor will move up my due date! So, now we need to find a boy name. The only boy name we ever agreed on was Jack, so maybe we'll just have to have "Jack Two". Any suggestions, let me know!

After we had our ultrasound we went shopping to celebrate!

Happy Visit to the Dentist

On Wednesday Mimi (my mom) had a dental apt. at our office. Seeing how I was working, Jack came along. He was in a good mood so, I decided that this was the day he would have his first cleaning. He did so good! He let mom clean his teeth and "count" all his teeth with my instruments. He cried when Dr. Jones came into to do the exam, but for the most part he was great! He sure is getting big!

Nap time at the park

So, not only does Jack look older because of his new hair cut, he thinks he is older too. On Friday Jack finally go up the courage to climb out of his crib on his own! I was sitting down in our living room (trying to take a nap myself) when I herd a thump. I didn't think too much of it because it wasn't too loud. I thought maybe he threw his sippy cup or something out of his crib. about 20 minutes later I hear the door knob rattling. I went into his room to find jack proudly sitting on the floor going thru his baby box. Yup, his baby fist, his hospital bracelets, his first clip of hair, all those precious mementos on the floor! We cleaned up the room and I put Jack back into his crib and told him to stay there, it was nap time. About 5 minutes later I hear him sliding down the stairs. He proudly stood at the top of the landing announcing "I awake"
Now, how could I be mad at that! He sure does have me wrapped around his finger! So, this is how we ended up at the park during nap time! My idea was to tire him out and take him home for a late nap. Yeah, that didn't happen!

My Two Favorite People!

This is Adam and Jack tonight reading bed time stories. Every night in the Beach home, around 8:00 pm you can find Adam and Jack reading bed time stories. Jack just loves books, I often find him sitting in his room just looking at his books. This love of books is something that he has inherited from Adam. I love that Adam does this with Jack every night, its such a nice way for them to spend some time together, especially after a crazy week day.

On Friday August 4th was the release of "Breaking Dawn". This is Stephanie Meyers 4th book in the "Twilight" series. It was a pretty exciting night. We all made super cute matching t-shirts and made a ladies night out of the event. We went to dinner and then waited at Barnes and Nobel until midnight for the books release. It was insane! There were so many women there! We had to wait until 1:00 am to actually get our books, and we had one of the first dozen wrist bands! I feel bad for the employees, they probably had to be there until 5am!
